Summary of the 20th Jubilee Edition of BHP 2023 Fair

On March 8-9, 2023, the 20th Jubilee International Trade Fair for Occupational Health, Safety and Fire Protection took place in Katowice.

 
On March 9th, the largest event in southern Poland, the 20th Jubilee Edition of the International Trade Fair for Safety, Occupational Health and Fire Protection BHP 2023, has been finished at the International Congress Center (MCK) in Katowice. The event brought the participation of over 100 exhibitors from both Poland and abroad, including Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Slovakia, Germany, and Italy. It was a remarkable gathering not only due to the anniversary celebration but primarily because of the high level of substantive events accompanying the fair and the number of visitors – over 4,000 professional attendees representing companies conscientiously caring for the safety and quality of work of employees from all over Poland.
 

The jubilee edition of the fair was under the honorary patronage of the Chief Labour Inspectorate, the Central Institute for Labour Protection – National Research Institute, the Higher Mining Office, the Nationwide Association of Occupational Health and Safety Workers, the Technical Inspection Authority, as well as the Higher School of Management in Occupational Safety in Katowice and the Central Mining Rescue Station S.A.

During the two-days fair, visitors had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest technological advancements in safety and participate in numerous presentations and demonstrations.


The significant value of substantive meetings was appreciated by the participants.

The Trade Fair in Katowice hosted over 20 hours of free conferences, symposia, and discussions among specialists. Guests also had the chance to attend first aid training sessions and meet honorary and substantive patrons in the Special Expert Zone.

The first day of the fair featured:

  • Conference by the District Labour Inspectorate in Katowice titled “Harmful Factors in the Workplace Environment – the Role and Tasks of the State Labour Inspectorate”
  • Symposium organized by the Higher School of Management in Occupational Safety in Katowice titled “Good Occupational Health and Safety Practices”
  • Conference organized by the Safe at Work Coalition titled “Workers 50+: Opportunities and Limitations,” addressing occupational health and safety concerns for employees over 50 years old
  • Conference organized by the Culture of Safety Foundation titled “Practical Aspects of Mental Health Management in Your Company”

On the second day of the fair, special attention was given to the BHP Vectors Conference organized by Intersafe & DNV – Practitioners’ Forum, with DNV/INTERSAFE and LYRECO Company as organizers.

Best BHP industry exhibitors in Katowice showcased solutions in fire protection, personal protection, protective clothing, workplace environmental monitoring systems, manufacturers of environmental monitoring systems and control-measuring equipment. The fair also featured domestic and foreign manufacturers and distributors of individual and collective protective equipment for workers, manufacturers of fall protection systems, and distributors of protective clothing and footwear.
 
 

Results of the BHP Trade Fair Innovative Product Competition:

The Katowice BHP Trade Fair has a longstanding tradition of a competition for the BEST PRODUCT presented at the fair. This year, products were evaluated in two categories – Product and Service. Considering characteristics such as innovation, quality, eco-friendliness, and overall impressions of products and services, the JURY, chaired by Dr. Eng. Witold Kreisler, awarded the following prizes and distinctions:

Key Event in the BHP Industry in Southern Poland.

Issues related to OHS are crucial for management in a company and directly impact economic results. An increasing number of entrepreneurs are aware of this fact. Therefore, in recent years, there has been a growing interest among employers and management personnel in the BHP Trade Fairs in Katowice. They expect to find comprehensive solutions for OHS management at the fair. Naturally, exhibitors meet their expectations by presenting their offerings and solutions.
